Advanced Manual Therapy
ENJOYMENT, FAMILY, EVOLUTION
This is a specialized physiotherapy approach that allows practitioners to manually treat neuro-musculoskeletal conditions in a highly specific manner. This approach uses mobilizations (low-velocity, higher-amplitude movements) and manipulations (high-velocity, low-amplitude movements) of joint, muscular and neural tissues, along with specific therapeutic exercises. It is based on a rigorous and safe clinical reasoning process. It relies on the best available scientific evidence as well as a biopsychosocial model adapted to each patient.
Canada currently has one of the best postgraduate manual therapy education systems in the world and is officially recognized by the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec (OPPQ) as well as the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT).
