Jaw Pain (TMJ)
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a mobile joint similar to the other joints in the body. As a result, it can often become painful for many individuals. Physiotherapy is an effective treatment approach for patients suffering from TMJ joint blockage, disc displacement, joint noises (clicking or clunking), myofascial syndrome, osteoarthritis, or even hypermobility, instability, or trigeminal neuralgia.
An interdisciplinary approach is often recommended, involving collaboration between a dentist specialized in occlusion and a physiotherapist specialized in temporomandibular joint disorders.
