Post-Operative Rehabilitation
Our goal during your post-operative rehabilitation is to help you return to your activity level following surgery so that you can resume an active lifestyle. Whether it involves returning to work, recreational activities or competitive sports, we have the experience to guide you through each stage of your recovery.
During your physiotherapy sessions, your physiotherapist will monitor your progress using objective measurements and will adapt treatments and exercises according to your progression and the recommendations of your orthopedic surgeon. We have established post-operative protocols with orthopedic surgeons from hospitals in the regions where our clinics are located in order to provide you with the highest level of care. Your physiotherapist will communicate with your orthopedic surgeon throughout your rehabilitation to follow the established precautions and recommendations and ensure optimal recovery.
During your first appointment, your physiotherapist will evaluate your condition, inform you about the follow-up process, the recommended treatment frequency and the appropriate treatment plan for your situation, and will create a home exercise program. Techniques such as muscle release, joint and scar mobilizations, and electrotherapy modalities may also be used to maximize your progress.
Some conditions treated include:
- Rotator cuff reconstruction
- Shoulder labrum/Bankart repair
- Total hip or knee replacement
- Hip labrum repair
- ACL reconstruction
- Arthroscopic knee surgery (meniscectomy, meniscal repair)
- Surgical fixation following a fracture
- Achilles tendon repair
- Neck or back surgery (laminectomy, discectomy, spinal fusion)
It is strongly recommended to schedule your first appointment in advance after your surgery, according to the recommendations of your orthopedic surgeon. Please contact the reception of the clinic closest to you to book an appointment.
